Chula Vista dog training should help you enjoy life with your dog, at home and beyond your front door. I offer private, one-on-one training for puppies, everyday obedience, and reactive or aggressive behavior in Chula Vista, including Eastlake and Otay Ranch, and nearby Bonita. You and your dog work directly with me, Mary.
Whether your dog pulls on walks, jumps on visitors, struggles around other dogs, or needs a confident start as a puppy, we begin with your dog’s history and your goals. I teach you practical skills you can use between sessions—not just exercises your dog performs for a trainer.

Private Dog Training in Chula Vista
Obedience for everyday life
Work on leash handling, attention, calm greetings, recall foundations, and impulse control. We build skills in manageable conditions before asking your dog to respond around greater distractions. You learn how to practice consistently at home and on neighborhood walks. Explore private obedience training.
Help for reactive or aggressive dogs
Barking, lunging, fear, and difficult encounters deserve an individual plan. I start with an assessment of your dog’s history and the situations that are hardest for you. We prioritize safety and suitable training conditions rather than taking a struggling dog straight into a busy group. Read about reactive dog training and behavior modification.
Puppy foundations
My Bulletproof Puppy program emphasizes confidence around everyday surfaces, sounds, movement, and new environments, alongside house manners and early obedience. You learn to guide your puppy through new experiences at a manageable pace. See the puppy training program and enrollment requirements.
Outdoor Obedience Training at Rohr Park in Bonita
In my opinion, Rohr Park is one of the most beautiful parks in San Diego. It is also a wonderful setting to consider for outdoor obedience practice: learning to stay connected with you while everyday activity happens nearby.
At Rohr Park, training can focus on leash skills, attention, and responding to familiar cues around distractions. We choose an appropriate distance from activity and increase difficulty gradually. The goal is useful obedience, not overwhelming your dog. Rohr Park has a Bonita address and is managed by the City of Chula Vista; Bonita is a nearby community, not a separate city within Chula Vista.
Eastlake and Otay Ranch Dog Training
I serve dog owners in Eastlake and Otay Ranch, as well as other Chula Vista neighborhoods. Training is shaped around your routine, from settling at home and greeting visitors to walking with better focus. Eastlake’s parks offer appealing possibilities for outdoor practice when your dog is ready.
Chula Vista has more than 20 beautiful parks—in fact, the city lists more than 64—offering many opportunities to find a suitable setting for outdoor training and classes. We select locations according to your dog’s needs, park rules, and any required permissions. This does not mean classes are scheduled at every park. How We Get Started
Tell me your neighborhood, your dog’s age, and what you want to change. We discuss the appropriate starting point and confirm travel availability. Private sessions may begin at home, with outdoor practice added when it supports your goals and your dog’s readiness.
For obedience and behavior programs, the required initial in-home assessment is $250 and lasts approximately 90 minutes. The Bulletproof Puppy package has its own enrollment requirements. See current programs and pricing before booking.
Chula Vista Dog Training Questions
Will I train directly with Mary?
Yes. You and your dog train directly with me. I bring more than 20 years working with rescues and training sport dogs to our sessions, and I teach you how to continue the work between lessons. Read about my experience and approach.
Do you offer in-home training in Eastlake, Otay Ranch, and Bonita?
Yes, subject to travel availability. These are areas I serve, not separate training facilities. Share your location when you inquire so we can discuss arrangements.
Can we discuss my dog before I choose a program?
Yes. Send an inquiry or book a 15-minute phone consultation for $39. The phone consultation is separate from, and does not replace, a required in-home assessment.
